PI-ISD Safety Update:

Pi-ISD Safety Update

Earlier this morning, Point Isabel ISD received notice of a potential bomb threat at District schools and facilities. Point Isabel ISD immediately initiated its emergency safety protocols & contacted local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies for immediate assistance. Law enforcement officers were immediately on scene assisting with the assessment and investigation of the potential threat.

Our federal law enforcement partners have informed us that several other school districts in the Rio Grande Valley also received the emailed bomb threats. According to law enforcement officials, these emails did not originate locally, and thus do not appear credible. Given that the threat was determined not to be credible, and after a thorough sweep by law enforcement officials at all District facilities, it was deemed safe for our students to remain at their campuses, despite all campuses continuing to be on heightened alert.

We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to ensure the continued safety of our students, staff, and Tarpon community.

Safety is our top priority.

Thank you, Point Isabel ISD Administration.
